Jean-Louis Comolli
Jean-Louis Comolli was born in Algeria in 1941. He has been editor-in-chief of the Cahiers du Cinéma from 1966 to 1978. Being the author of important feature films, in the last years he devoted himself to documentary films. He teaches theory of cinema in the universities of Paris VIII, Barcelona, Strasburg and Genève. He collaborates with several revues and he is the author of many important publications (among these, a Dictionary of Jazz – Robert Laffont, 1994).
He has recently been translated into Italian in 2006, with his book Vedere e potere. Il cinema, il documentario e l’innocenza perduta (Film Critica Award 2005 – Donzelli Publishing House, Rome 2006).
