She is the object of conflict between two women\u2019s radically different ideas of what constitutes motherhood. Tina (the great Valeria Golino) devotes all her time to Vittoria, whilst the girl\u2019s dissolute biological mother Angelica (the equally superb Alba Rohrwacher, who also starred in director Laura\u00a0Bispuri\u2019s acclaimed feature debut Sworn Virgin) is a mostly drunk and erratic force of nature.
