In Between Art Film <\/b>and\u00a0Vivo Film\u00a0<\/b>are pleased to announce the Museum Tour<\/strong> of\u00a0 “Looking for Oum Kulthum”<\/b>,\u00a0<\/b>the film by the iranian artist Shirin Neshat<\/strong>, winner of the Silver Lion at the 66th edition of the Venice Film Festival.<\/p>\n

SYNOPSIS: <\/em><\/p>\n

Mitra is an ambitious artist in her forties who embarks on her dream<\/em>
\n project of making a film about the legendary Egyptian singer and diva<\/em>
\n Oum Kulthum. Her film explores the struggles, sacrifices and the<\/em>
\n price of Oum Kulthum\u2019s success as a female artist in a male dominated<\/em>
\n society. However, having left her family behind for her career and in<\/em>
\n her efforts to capture the essence of Oum Kulthum as a myth, a woman<\/em>
\n and an artist, Mitra\u2019s own struggles blend with those of the singer and<\/em>
\n she finds herself caught in an emotional and artistic breakdown.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
