Sara Pozzoli
Born in Milan in 1971, she moved almost immediately, together with her family, from Milano to Reggio Emilia where she grew up and went to school. She attended the Drama, Art & Music Studies faculty of the University of Bologna where she graduated in 1995 with a thesis on Film Studies.
Around that time, she began to take an interest in photography and made her first short films. She was admitted to the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome where she graduated in 1999 with a short entitled Lucia nata nel 1979 a Buenos Aires (Lucia born in 1979 in Buenos Aires),the story of a young woman, the daughter of a desaparecida mother who returns to Argentina in search of her real background. This short won a number of prizes at Italian film festivals. In the years that followed, Sara made several films that were entered at various Italian and international festivals, always with special focus on portraits, art, dance and the contamination of genres and styles.
